Founded in 2020, Kaya Cares is a youth-led non-profit organization with the goal of closing the wealth gap in the Philippines. We believe that every child who is passionate about soccer should be given the opportunity to pursue their love for the sport, regardless of their socioeconomic status or other barricades to success. Additionally, we are committed to reducing educational inequality in the Philippines and strongly believe in the value of high-quality education. Working in close partnership with boys and girls from the Gaward Kalinga (GK) community, we conduct weekly tutoring sessions for the children where we strive to improve their English proficiency and other areas they need help with in school. In addition to helping these GK children advance their education, we believe that by making free resources available to them, we will also help them improve their performance on the field to become well-rounded student-athletes. With so much support from Kaya, we are one step closer to making our vision a reality. Because in the big picture, Kaya really does care – for the sport, lessons learned, and most importantly, the community.
